Clinging on to a
flickering light
A light I've held and protected with all my might
It guided me through every plight
And in turn lost some of its light
Finding refuge in its glaring sight
Withstanding every blow in an endless fight
But when you came and blew off the dying light
I turned mad and cried each every dark night
To my surprise you shared your light
And I've never seen such a sight
Your shared light so bright
Now I carry a new and brighter light
And when the day comes that it'll lose its might
I may still cry in the darkness of the night
I may let myself down for tonight
But that does not mean I'll give up the fight
For a new light will be coming
