Movie Notes: The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000)

After 35 years from the cancellation of the The Rocky and Bullwinkle show, we follow the adventures of our heroes as they move from their spiraling down life of being financed by re-runs of their TV Show, Rocky being unable to fly and  their dwindling forests; as they embark on a journey to try to stop their nemesis take over the real world.

There were a lot of cameo's in the film including Whoopy Goldberg (yes, her name is Judge Cameo)  and big names in the main cast including Robert De Niro, Jason Alexander and Carl Reiner which makes would make you think what is up with this movie the moment you see or hear them.

Following maybe the tradition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit of combining animation and reality, the movie was not as bad as it seemed to be surprisingly. The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle was by far still amusing. Despite the old school tone, over the top puns and not child friendly comedy, I have to admit that it's appeal lies not primarily on the content, graphics or relevance of the film but on the nostalgia it creates especially to us people who have watched them during their childhood.

If you're finding for something to watch for fun sans the technicalities and underlying social or philosophical commentaries, then this movie would be something to consider for its simplicity and pure fun.

I give it a rating of 2 out of 3 and listing it as a GOOD-ISH Movie.
