Movie Notes: Biting Out 'Hotel Transylvania 2' (2015)

Hotel Transylvania 2 is an easy going film packed with pockets of hearty moments of fun and cuteness. 

Vlad and his monster friends are back with their hilarious antics as they adjust to their new set-up of mingling with the humans. Mavis gives birth to Dennis and Vlad is worried that the boy is not a vampire. Mavis is contemplating leaving the Hotel and moving to California so Dennis could live with other humans and grow up "normal". 

Vlad asks  his friends to help him make Dennis a real vampire by showing him how to be a monster. This is later on proven to be disastrous and hilarious.

This movie is fun to watch with its slapstick comedy and LSS worthy music (Worth it by Fifth Harmony was playing in my head on the way home and maybe while I'm writing this post). This is where Sony Pictures Animation differ with Pixar; the latter have deep underlying messages in its movies while the first is sheer fun and comedy to a point of being absurd at times.

While others may dismiss this movie as a heap of mess, I genuinely laughed in some moments of the movie and sometimes we just want to laugh, right? This is not a groundbreaking movie with its story or production value but it is one family movie where both the kids and adults can share a laugh with.

The animation has Sony Pictures Animation signature style with wide eyes, colorful and vibrant feel same as with its earlier films such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Everything was cute, surprisingly even the bats! That's something!
