Movie Notes: 'The Last Witch Hunter' (2015)
A-list stars and sleek special effects in an unremarkable movie.
Kaulder (Vin Diesel) is cursed by the Witch Queen to be immortal after he has defeated her to stop the plague she has caused. Fast forward to the present time, Kaulder has lived for hundreds of years to keep rogue witches that still believe in the Witch Queen at bay and maintain the balance.
However, the Witch Queen is resurrected and along with her are all the incarcerated powerful rogue witches waiting for the time to exact revenge on the Witch hunter.
MOVIE NOTES
There are a lot of reasons why this movie could have redeemed itself and make a viable franchise. It has A-list actors plus a relatively sleek special effects but sadly it did not achieve its potential.
It's not bad per se and it can be entertaining to watch but it was unremarkable. The narrative was predictable and bland with all the cliches of action fantasy movies. It doesn't have the quality of Resident Evil probably because it tried to be funny which kind of was off putting with the sleek effects.
I give this movie 2 out of 5 and listing it under GOOD-ish Movies.
